On detached service with the Pioneer Corps (combat engineers), 26 Nov 1862 to August 1864. Promoted Sergeant 1 Nov 1864. Mustered out 20 Dec 1864, with Company A at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Promoted Second Lieutenant on 25 Feb 1867, retroactive to 20 Sep 1863.
