US Navy. Residence: Ballard, Seattle, Washington. Born 15 Apr 1922 in Andenes, Norway, to John Sverre and Nellie Wang Andersen. Came to America to Seattle as a small boy. Second World War: Enlisted in US Navy in Feb 1943. Served in a carrier service unit on Iwo Jima. Discharged Feb 1946. Post war: Married 23 May 1946 to Carol Hess. Andersen was a member of the baseball and football coaching staffs at the University of Washington. His wife, Carol, died in 1990 and hed married Janet Andersen of Bellingham. Funeral on 6 May 2001.
