BACK, Ole: WI 15th Inf Co A. Residence: Chicago, Illinois. Born at Ovre Rendalen, Norway. Civil War: Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 11 Oct 1861 at Chicago. Mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 15 Nov 1861, as Corporal. Promoted to Sergeant, 16 Jan 1863. Severely wounded in Battle of Stone's River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862, and sent to hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he died of his wounds on 16 Jan 1863.
