WI 31st Inf Co C. Residence: Dodgeville, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Miner. Age 18. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’9”. Enlisted for three years on 22 Jan 1864 at Dodgeville. Mustered 2 Feb 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Bounty $300. Private. Absent sick at Newbern, North Carolina, since 10 Apr 1865. An order dated 9 Jun 1865 directed that men of six companies of the regiment whose terms did not expire prior to 1 Oct 1865 were transferred into the four companies which were not to be mustered out of service.
