WI 18th Inf Co D. Residence: Pierce County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 24. Sawyer. Blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 6’2¼”. Enlisted for three years on 14 Jan 1862 at Portage, Wisconsin. Mustered at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Wounded and taken prisoner at Shiloh, Tennessee, 6 Apr 1862. He was a prisoner of war, captured at Chickamauga, Georgia, on 19 Sep 1863.
