ELLEFSON, Jon

Residence: Wiota Township, Lafayette County, Wisconsin. Born “Jon Ellevsen Gutterud” on 24 Sep 1844 at Sigdal, Buskerud, Norway, son of Ellev Jonsen Gutterud and Anne Torjusdatter. He came to America with his parents and a brother, Torger, on “Porsgrunn”, sailing from Porsgrunn and arriving in New York 7 Jul 1848. They came to Wiota Township. Civil War: Post war: Married at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in 1868 to Mary Clarquist (1845-1899). Six children. Lived in Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa.
