ERDAHL, Peter
WI 3rd Inf Co B. Residence: Pleasant Springs Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born 9 Feb 1841 in Eidfjord, Hordaland, Norway, son of Ingebret Pedersen Erdahl and Anna Helgesdatter Bu. Came to America with his parents and two siblings. Civil War: Said to be the first man to enlist in the Union army from Pleasant Springs. Private. Wounded and taken prisoner. Post war: Married on 19 May 1866 at Winnebago County, Wisconsin, to Sarah Jane Hawkins. Six children. Peter died in Evansville, Wisconsin, in 1912; Sarah in 1929.
