He came to America with his wife and infant son on Embla, which sailed out of Christiania on 9 May 1849 and arrived in New York on 6 Jul 1849. They came to Jordan Township, Green County, Wisconsin, and by 1855 they were in the Holden settlement of Goodhue County, Minnesota. Civil War: May have served in the Civil War.
