EVENSEN, Knud
Born Knud Stenersen Haugen on 1 Jul 1841 in Hallingdal, Sigdal, Buskerud, Norway, son of Stener Evensen Haugen and Randi Knudsdatter Ørgenviken. He came to America with his parents and three siblings on Embla, which sailed from Christiania on 9 May 1849 and reached New York on 6 Jul 1849. They came to Jefferson Prairie, Rock County, Wisconsin, later to Jordan Township, Green County, Wisconsin, and still later to the Six Mile Grove settlement in Mower County, Minnesota.
