Born 23 May 1833 at Gjerpen, Telemark, Norway, son of Jacob Jacobsen Løberg and Gurine Thorbjørnsdatter. Came to America with his parents and four siblings. Married 3 Nov 1855 to Karen Eriksdatter Tveitan (1830-1859). Civil War: Corporal. Post war: Living in Amherst, Wisconsin, in 1907.
