Enlisted for three years on 7 Sep 1861 at Waupun. Mustered 5 Oct 1861 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Promoted to Corporal on 19 Feb 1863. Promoted to Sergeant on 1 Sep 1863. Taken prisoner in the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia, 20 Sep 1863. Died in Andersonville Prison on 1 Jun 1864. Buried in grave 1529.
