GILBERTSON, Gilbert O.
Born in Hol, Buskerud, Norway on 1 Oct 1831, a son of Ole Gudbrandson and Birgit Ivarsdatter Olmedokken. Came to America to Beloit, Wisconsin. Civil War: Private. Post war: Said in his father’s obituary published in the Northwood Index, Northwood, Iowa, to have served in the war. The obituary for Ole [Gudbrandson] Gilbertson, states that three sons, Gilbert Gilbertson, Nels Gilbertson and Iver Gilbert, all served in the Civil War.
