WI 8th Inf Co A. Residence: Royalton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 24. Farmer. Light (sic) eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’7½”. Enlisted for three years on 10 Aug 1861 at Waupaca, and mustered on 5 Sep 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Was in action at Fredericktown, Missouri, 21 Oct 1861; Mississippi River Island No. 10; New Madrid 18 Nov 1862; Farmington, Mississippi, 9 May 1862; the siege of Corinth, Mississippi, 1862.
