WI 37th Inf Co K. Residence: Highland Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Born Haldor Narvesen Grønvold on 30 Dec 1828 in Sigdal, Buskerud, Norway, son of Narve Haakonson Grønvold (Grønhovd) and Gunhild Haldorsdatter Vad. Arrived in Wisconsin in 1849. Lived in Highland Township, northwest of Dodgeville. He was married on 24 May 1857 to Ragnhild Andersdatter Støa (1837-1867). Civil War: Farmer. Age 36. Married. Blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 57. Drafted. Enrolled for one year on 28 Oct 1864 at Highland, Wisconsin. Mustered the same day. Private. Survived the war. Post war: He married on 12 Mar 1868, Marit Andersdatter Skredderhuset (1845-1930). In 1875, they moved to Lake Township, Humboldt County. Iowa. He died 14 Jan 1892 and is buried in East Ullensvang Lutheran Cemetery in Humboldt County.
