His first battle was at the Snake River, Idaho, in 1862. Re-enlisted on 3 Sep 1864 at Camp Conness, Idaho Territory. Promoted to Corporal on 4 Sep 1864. Re-mustered on 16 Sep 1864. Transferred to Co M on 22 Oct 1864. Mustered out on 12 Jul 1866 at Camp Douglas, Utah Territory. Post war: Hansen (Hegg) died in Helena, Montana.
