HENDERSON, Knud
Born Knud Haldorsen Løne on 16 Nov 1835 at Voss, Hordaland, Norway, son of Haldor Brynjuldsen Løne and Margrethe Rognalsdatter Glimme. He came with his parents and six siblings on Syttende Mai, which sailed from Bergen about 12 May 1849 and arrived in New York on 26 Jun 1849. They came to Christiana Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. In1851 he was working as a carriage painters apprentice in Chicago. In 1859, he took over his fathers farm. Civil War: Post war: Married in 1869 to Margrethe Knutsdatter Glimme. Six children. Became an artist in Chicago. Eventually came back to Dane County to become an organist and music teacher. Sources: (Naeseth-Hedberg 49-256)
