WI 19th Inf Co B. Residence: La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Unmarried. Enlisted 23 Jan 1862 at La Crosse. Mustered 4 Mar 1862. Private. Promoted to Corporal. He kept a diary of his service during 1863. In it he writes of other Norwegians in his company. He was a member of the Provost Guard (Military Police) in his Regiument. Mustered out 17 May 1865.
