US Army Auto Repl., Draft Co No. 20. Born 14 Aug 1888 in Denmark, son of Christen and Hannah Jensen. First World War: Age 28. Enrolled 25 Jul 1918 at Elk Point, South Dakota. Private. Was overseas from 12 Nov 1918 to 30 Jul 1919. Discharged from the service 8 Aug 1919. Post war: Married Elizabeth. One daughter, Myrtle, survives. Jensen died of pneumonia 27 Jan 1930 at age 41 at Beresford, South Dakota, and was buried there in St. Peters Cemetery. Sources: (SDSHS Cemetery Records of Veterans, box 39)
