WI 6th Inf Co B. Residence: Martell, Pierce County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Married. Age 40. Blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, 5’8½”. Drafted. Enrolled for one year and mustered on 3 Nov 1864 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Private. Joined Company B on 8 Dec 1864. Took part in the battles of Hatcher’s Run, 6-7 Feb 1865; Gravelly Run, Virginia, 31 Mar 1865 and Five Forks, Virginia, 1 Apr 1865. Wounded in action at Five Forks. In hospital until 16 May 1865.
