KINGLAND, Thor Thorsen
WI 15th Inf Co H. Born 14 (or 15) Jul 1844 in Vinje, Telemark, Norway, son of Thor Thorbjornsen Kingeland and Aslaug Alfdatter Wommertvedt. He came with his parents and four siblings on “Jupiter”, which arrived in Boston on 9 Aug 1847. They came to Christiana Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Corporal. Post war: Married first on 28 Jun 1865 to Synneva Sylfestsdatter, who died 22 Aug 1878 at age 32. Married second to Gunhild Bergitte Tonnesdatter, who died 9 Jul 1939 at age 92. Thor died in 1913.
