Enlisted for three years on 5 Dec 1861 at Viroqua (or Synxville), Wisconsin. Mustered 19 Jan 1862 at Milwaukee. Private. “William Kettle” was killed in action on 6 Apr 1862 at Shiloh, Tennessee.
