Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 22 Aug 1862. Bounty paid $25. Sergeant. Was in the battles of Chaplain Hills, Stone’s River, Chickamauga, and the Atlanta Campaign. Was assigned home on recruiting service from 21 Nov 1863 to 6 Mar 1864.
