TX 11th Inf Co E. CSA. Born “Johan Olsen Nystol” on 5 Nov 1835 at Seljaas, Emli, Norway. Civil War: Enlisted for one year on 8 Feb 1862 at Canton, Van Zandt County, Texas. Private. From 24 Jun 1862 until 14 Jul 1862, he was absent on a detail to procure arms. From Aug until Oct 1862 he was in hospital at Camp Clough, Texas. Post war: He is thought to have died during the 1880s in Austin, Texas.
