WI 26th Inf Co D. Residence: Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin. Born in Denmark. Civil War: Age 38. Farmer. Unmarried. Blue eyes, gray hair, light complexion, 5’5”. Enlisted for three years on 20 Aug 1862 at Racine. Mustered 7 Sep 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Wounded in the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia, on 2 May 1863. Transferred to the Veterans Reserve Corps on 13 Nov 1863. Post war: Granted a pension of $4 a month because of a wound to his right arm.
