Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Waterford and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, on 17 Feb 1864. Private. Joined C Company at Strawberry Plains, Virginia, on 31 Mar 1864. Transferred to Company H at Whiteside, Tennessee, on 1 Jan 1865. Temporarily assigned to the 24th Infantry. Transferred to the 13th Infantry, Company K, on 18 Jun 1865.
