WI 22nd Inf Co G. Residence: Jordan Township, Green County, Wisconsin. Born “Lars Thorsen Stranden” on 18 Sep 1845 at Nes, Buskerud, Norway, son of Thor Sivertsen Stranden and Kari Christophersdatter. He came to America with his parents and five siblings on “Thracian”, sailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, and arriving in New York on 31 Jul 1848. They came to the Luther Valley settlement in Rock County, Wisconsin, and moved soon to Jordan Township. Civil War: Private. Post war: Died 1869, buried in Jordan Lutheran Cemetery, Green County.
