SWENSON, Thore

WI Inf. Residence: Martell, Pierce County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway on 12 Aug 1832 at Lillehogstad, Tynset, Hedemarken, Norway. Came to America in 1851 with his parents, four brothers and one sister. Settled in Bosque County, Texas. Name originally Bersvendson was changed to Swenson. He moved to a farm near Martell, Wisconsin, before the Civil war. Three brothers, Niels, Erik and Otto Swenson all served in the Confederate Army. Civil War: Private.
