From 24 Jun to 14 Jul 1862 he was absent on a detail to procure arms. From 19 Jul through Nov 1862, he was assigned to work as a hospital steward in the Confededrate General Hospital in Tyler, Texas. Promoted to Corporal 12 Feb 1863. Post war: Died on 22 Feb 1893 in Brownsboro, Henderson County, Texas.
