TORENSON, Ole
Born “Ole Tostensen” on 16 Oct 1831 at Grinder, Solor, Hedmark, Norway, son of Tosten Olsen Stromsnes and Anne Svenningsdatter Smedtappen. Married Kari Thomasdatter [1821-1907] on 8 Aug 1854 at Grue Kirke, Solor. Four children, three of whom were born in Norway. Came to America about 1864. Civil War: Served in the Union Army. Private. At naturalization, he changed his name to Ole Thompson. Died in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, 9 May 1899. Buried at Green Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Kandiyohi County.
