Mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 15 Nov 1861, as Corporal. Promoted to Sergeant, 16 Jan 1863. Severely wounded in Battle of Stone’s River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862, and sent to hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he died of his wounds on 16 Jan 1863.
