WI 15th Inf Co B. Residence: Madison, Wisconsin. Born in Nestved, Denmark, 19 Sep 1832, a son of Carl W. and Elizabeth D. (Arneson) Borchsenius. To US 1856. Civil War: Age 29. Enrolled for three years on 14 Nov 1861 at Cambridge, Wisconsin. Commissioned 26 Dec 1861. Appointed Regimental Adjutant 10 Dec 1861. Was sick with nerve fever at Mississippi River Island No. 10 from 3 May 1862 until he resigned 28 Sep 1862. Post war: Was with the Wisconsin state land department for five years, was Dane County clerk for four years, became state timber agent. He became mayor of Baldwin, Wisconsin. In 1891, he was named chief of the state internal division. From 1897 to 1899, he was a legislator from St. Croix county. Lived in Madison. Buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
