DOCKER, John H.

MN 1st Battalion Infantry, Co B. Residence not shown. Born “Johannes Halvorsen Dokka” on 15 Mar 1842 at Sandsvær, Buskerud, Norway, son of Halvor Johnsen Dokka and Inger Maria Hansdatter Muggerud. He came to America in 1849 wsith his parents and three siblings. They came to Wisconsin. John moved to Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota. Civil War: Age 19. Enrolled 11 Feb 1862. Mustered the same day. Private. Wounded 2 Jul 1863 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Absent from company since then. Post war: He was married on 8 May 1867 to Anne Johannesdatter Ullevig (1840-1920). Five children. John Docker was chairman of the town board for twelve years and he was director of the school board. John Docker of Buckman, Morrison County, was awarded a pension of $6 a month because of a wound in his left arm. He died 28 Feb 1919 in Little Falls, Minnesota.
