At 2:00 p.m in the museum's Amdal-Odland Heritage Center., Carol Hasvold will give this presentation on Vesterheim's painted wooden bowls collection. The lecture is presented in connection with the exhibition Sacred Symbols, Ceremontial Cloth.

Joan Foster, an English-born Norwegian quilter and researcher, will speak on Hidden Treasures: Finding Evidence of Quilting in Norway. Quiltmaking was not common in Norway in the past, despite its popularity among Norwegians today. Foster will share the results of a nation-wide registration project conducted by her guild in Skien, Norway. This lecture is offered in conjunction with the Pieces of Self: Identity and Norwegian-American Quilts exhibit on view at Vesterheim through March 20, 2011.
