Joan Foster, an English-born Norwegian quilter and researcher, will speak on Hidden Treasures: Finding Evidence of Quilting in Norway. Quiltmaking was not common in Norway in the past, despite its popularity among Norwegians today. Foster will share the results of a nation-wide registration project conducted by her guild in Skien, Norway. This lecture is offered in conjunction with the Pieces of Self: Identity and Norwegian-American Quilts exhibit on view at Vesterheim through March 20, 2011.
