We are thrilled to introduce new members of the Vesterheim team!

Lizzie Nation is Vesterheim’s full-time Social Media and Content Assistant. Nation graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2017 with a major in art and a minor in graphic design. She worked as a marketing officer for Creative Arts Initiative in college and as a designer/social media person for the Fayette County Union newspaper. She has also been doing her own freelance marketing and social media and photography.

Hannah Tulgren is joining Vesterheim part time as a Folk Art School assistant, in connection with her position as a Nordic Studies fellow at Luther College. Vesterheim is grateful to Luther for supporting this shared position for the next year. Tulgren is a 2018 Luther College graduate with a double major in Art and Nordic Studies and has been the Nordic Studies fellow at Luther College for the past year. In her free time, she enjoys working on her artwork, which has strong influences from Nordic landscapes. She is looking forward to this next year and the collaborations between Luther and Vesterheim.

Andrea Becker is providing administrative assistance to the development department at Vesterheim as its resident “paper goblin” for the summer, organizing records for posterity and helping staff where needed. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Linguistics and has six years of nonprofit experience, many of which included gathering resources to help the organization move forward. Andrea hopes to find work in a museum or archive setting and enjoys bookmaking and nineteenth & twentieth century literature.
