Vesterheim invites all pre-school-aged children and their parents or caregivers to Barnetimen! During this children’s hour we will explore objects and exhibits in the museum, and then make art inspired by the museum visit. A snack is also provided.
Barnetimen meets from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Vesterheim Museum the third Tuesday of each month, September-April. The program is geared toward 3-5 year olds, but all ages are welcome. No sign-up is necessary—come to one session or all of them.
The program is free and participants will receive a free admission pass to the museum to visit again with their families.
This year, Lea Lovelace, an art educator and founding co-director of Decorah’s ArtHaus, will lead the program’s activities. Over the past twenty years, she has worked with many different groups in a variety of contexts including museums, higher education, schools, and community settings.
