Thank you to all of the Vesterheim volunteers who give their time and talents to this amazing place!
April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and it’s only appropriate that we send our gratitude at this time of year. It’s also the start of the busy season, when we call upon volunteers to help with everything from Syttende Mai, to Viking, to tours, to Nordic Fest, and Norwegian Christmas.
It’s hard to overstate the impact that Vesterheim volunteers have on the institution. They play so many important roles here and are often the faces that guests connect with during Vesterheim programming. They are tour guides, demonstrators, hosts, craft-makers, historians, and greeters. All of these tasks bring the stories of Norwegian immigration to America to life and encourage guests to explore their own family stories.
Even behind the scenes, the volunteers are tremendous ambassadors of Vesterheim. They promote membership, recruit and mentor other volunteers, and talk about Vesterheim activities. That kind of support is hard to track, but incredibly valuable.
Vesterheim volunteers are the lifeblood of the institution, so please accept a hearty thanks from all of the staff and board members. We are deeply grateful for all they do.
Tusen Takk for being a part of Vesterheim!
