A deeply committed teacher, Tyler Hendrickson has been teaching since 2004 to students aged 3 to 80. His first venture into Nordic folk music was in 2017, and he has been actively collecting tunes, participating in jams, performing during Nordic Fest, and continuing his studies ever since. He holds a B.A. in Music from Luther College, a M.M. from Wichita State University, and a D.M.A. from the University of Iowa. He currently serves as the Instructor of Viola at the University of Northern Iowa. He frequently performs on a hardingfele specially commissioned to honor his family’s roots in Voss, Norway.
