Did you know that Disney borrowed a truck load of things from Vesterheim for an exhibit, Norsk Kultur, Inspiration for Disney’s Frozen, at Epcot Center in Florida?
For over five years, Disney displayed over 30 pieces of Vesterheim folk art and those pieces have been returned to the museum. With the release of Frozen II, we decided to highlight some of the traditions, motifs, and designs that helped create the richly imagined Norway of Elsa and Anna.
It’s an honor that Disney recognized Vesterheim as the place to go for Norwegian artifacts. Visit Vesterheim to find out more. The display will be on view through mid-January 2020.
