Enjoy an afternoon featuring social time with friends, shopping the Vesterheim Museum Store, and a 30-minute mini-course, followed by a special midday meal and a visual tour of the current Favorite Things exhibit.

12:30-1:15 – Middag
A special lunch of open-faced sandwiches, cold salad, fruit plater, herring and crackers, and specialty cakes
1:15-1:45 – The featured program, Favorite Things: From Viking Swords to Spinning Wheels
Vesterheim’s Jennifer Kovarik will share images and stories of rarely-seen objects currently on display in the Favorite Things exhibit. She will also provide insight into how museums collect, preserve, and give access to these treasured objects.

Inspired by Vesterheim’s collection, Becky Hegstad and Ethan Bjelland will lead a playful language lesson.
When Disney Called – Vesterheim and Disney’s Frozen with Jennifer Kovarik
Vesterheim’s Jennifer Kovarik will highlight some of the traditions, motifs, and designs that helped create the richly imagined Norway of Elsa and Anna in the Frozen movies.
How to Host a Smørbrød Party with Kristi Bissell of True North Kitchen
Get ready to delight your friends and family with delicious Nordic open sandwiches! Kristi Bissell from the Nordic food blog, True North Kitchen, will cover the basics for making and enjoying smørbrød at home.
