Join us in welcoming Chivonne Marlow to the Vesterheim staff as the new Visitor Services Manager! Chivonne will facilitate a range of visitor experiences, including tours, special events, school and group visits, volunteer activities, and facility rentals.
Chivonne returns to Vesterheim from Luther College, where she spent 12 years as an advisor in the TRIO Achievement Program. She also organized experiential learning trips for students, advised campus organizations, and assisted with summer camps and events. Prior to her work in higher education, Chivonne studied English and Sociology at the University of Iowa, and worked in community-based corrections in Iowa and Minnesota.
Working with non-profit organizations and being involved in the Decorah community are her passions. Chivonne was previously employed at Vesterheim from 2006-2008 in the role of Grants Coordinator and Development Assistant. In her new position, she looks forward to collaborating with volunteers and museum staff to help visitors engage with Vesterheim’s traditions in new ways.
