Barbro Tronhuus Storlien (1970) grew up in a community strongly influenced by folk art and has made a living out of folk costumes and cultural intangible heritage. She is a certified maker of folk costumes, a writer, and the chairperson of Norges Husflidslag, the Norwegian Association of Arts and Crafts. In 2019 she published her first book Barbro broderer (Embroidery by Barbro), and she will publish her second book this year. Storlien has received governmental grants for artists for several years, and in addition to having her own studio, she teaches the art of embroidery and the making of folk costumes.
