Bruce Ankeny became the youngest member of the Blue Earth Royal Chiselers in 1982 and found his niche in caricature carving. Bruce gives credit to Marv Kaisersatt for inspiring him to become a better carver through his example and sense of humor.

After working in the family furniture business for 47 years, Bruce retired in December 2021 and is now enjoying the freedom that he has to spend more time carving in his workshop. Bruce was recently inducted into the Caricature Carvers of America (CCA) at the 2023 Carvin’ the Rockies event in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Bruce has taught woodcarving classes at Snow Daze in Waite Park, Minnesota; Wahpeton Woodcarving Weekend in Wahpeton, North Dakota; Rocky Mountain Carver Roundup in Midway, Utah; the Whittling Shack in Rochester, Minnesota; The Doane Experience in Crete, Nebrask; North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota; 2024 Carvin’ the Rockies in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the Renegade Woodcarvers Roundup in Lebanon, Tennessee.
