Heidi Sherman is a Professor of Medieval History at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. After earning a PhD in Medieval History at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Dr. Sherman published widely on medieval textiles and trade. She is especially interested in experimental archaeology. With colleagues and students, she grew and processed flax for several year. The excitement of history through hands-on learning led her to the Christiansons, who hosted several of her classes at their Viking longhouse. Since the house was moved to campus, Sherman has hosted events there for the community, including the Midwest Viking Festival since 2022.
