Marta Kløve Juuhl

Matra is a retired weaving teacher with 27 years of experience teaching weaving and art history at the high school level. After her teaching career, she spent 10 years as a textile curator at Osterøy Museum. She has maintained her own weaving studio since 1989. Notable commissions include weaving seating cushions for the Oslo Town Hall, first used at a Nobel Peace Prize celebration; fabric for the royal chairs in Håkonshallen, Bergen; and textiles for church vestments, including approximately 30 chasubles. She has also taught weaving on warp-weighted looms in various museums across Norway.

In addition to her weaving work, she has contributed to textile literature, co-authoring Klingande Steinar / Klinkin Steins: The Warp-Weighted Loom with Hildur Håkonardottir and Elizabeth Johnston, and Bunader i Hordaland in collaboration with a group of women. Her articles have been featured in several publications, further sharing her expertise and passion for textile traditions.
