Phil Moody is an engineer and avid outdoorsman from St. Paul, Minnesota. Growing up he was inspired by his DIY father and crafty mother but didn’t find his creative niche until meeting his partner, Meagan, and watching her dabble in a variety of unusual materials. Spoon and bowl carving soon took root, eventually carving so many he started a small business selling them. Early in the pandemic, he saw a photo of a knutkorg basket. The puzzle-like construction requiring only minimal materials and tools ignited his imagination. Serendipitously, he was gifted a translated Norwegian instruction manual after a chance encounter. Since then, knutkorgs have been consuming more and more space in his and Meagan’s 600-square-foot home.
