Explore Numedal Rosemaling with Patti Goke

What is the unique Numedal style of rosemaling from the Numedal Valley?  Numedal style has had many outside influences, from Hallingdal and Telemark painters, but also from those “inside” it as well. Influences include many creative and unique resident painters whose styles were dissimilar. Did you know that Thomas Luraas, noted Norwegian rosemaler, was one of the Telemark painters to leave his mark in Numedal rosemaling?

She has traveled twice to the valley known as the “Valley of the Middle Ages,” both times with Vesterheim on Folk Art Study Tours. She has also done individual study of the style and painters.
