An Artist's Journey: Virtual Tour and Live Q.A. with Carl Homstad - Part 1

March 1, 2022 | 2:00 p.m. (CT)

Location: Online on Zoom

We want to share the exhibit An Artist’s Journey: Carl Homstad, 50 Years with you wherever you are! Join artist Carl Homstad for video tours of the exhibit followed by live Q&A sessions.

This retrospective exhibition covers 50 years of Carl’s work. It focuses on journeys – his travel journey, his journey as a career artist, and his journey through life as a person.

This Part 1 session will focus on Carl’s travel journeys. And there will be sessions in April and May that focus on his career and life journeys.

Carl is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker with a relaxed and warm personality. Whether you are already a fan of his art or new to his work, Carl will give you something to think about from artist technique to life philosophy. And his prints and paintings are always a joy to view.

Carl is an award-winning artist who has exhibited in numerous juried and invitational shows. His work is in the permanent collections of several Midwest institutions, and he is well-known in the Northeast Iowa area for his murals on walls in more than thirty communities. He has also supervised more than one hundred murals in public schools.

The exhibit is supported by William and Kathi Wild, Decorah Bank & Trust, and Anonymous with additional support from Peggy Beatty, Brenda Carlson, Mary Jo Finholt, Barb Gavle, Melinda Hanson, Elea Jourdan, Kris Kratz, Elise Mullen, Linda Quaas, Leslie Sand, and Joann Voltmer.
