Vesterheim is excited to pair the Innovators & Inventors exhibit with a free lecture series that will bring together some of the most creative and inspiring Norwegian-American leaders, thinkers, and artists working today.
After a career as a studio artist in Norway, Anna Eide joined Corning Glass Works in 1987 as head of the design team for Corning’s Corelle, Pyrex, and CorningWare brands. Eide was responsible for numerous design innovations, including square plates, embossed designs, and Corelle’s best-ever selling design, called Country Cottage. Eide designed new lines for U. S. department stores and developed new markets in Japan and Korea.
Eide says about her 30 years at Corning, “It’s all about the process. And the process goes in circles. You have to discover and explore and communicate. And if you don’t do this, you don’t go far. When you are a head designer, you listen and ask, and do it over and over. You need to look at things in a different way. There is not only one solution.”
Innovators & Inventors exhibition and lecture series is sponsored by the Tomson Family Foundation. Find out more about the exhibit here.
