Be transported back in time through words and photos from a 10-week-long trip Andrew and Elise Hoiness took to Norway in 1908. Using visuals from postcards as well as the messages in those and in letters home to family members in Iowa, you will get a sense of the realities of travel at the time and the connection they felt to the country of their parents.
Vesterheim staff member Karla Brown will give this presentation in-person at the Sons of Norway Lodge in Brookings, South Dakota, and everyone is invited to attend!
Visitors wishing to attend the in-person meeting should call lodge member Becky Ekeland at 605-695-2554 to RSVP. The lodge meets at 6:30 p.m. for a potluck dinner (visitors do not need to bring food). The program starts at 7:00. Join for an evening of fun and fellowship!
