Vesterheim is pleased to announce that Charis Hovden is a new member to its board of trustees. Vesterheim has a national board with 24 members from 11 states. “We are grateful for the dedication and leadership of our board of trustees,” Chris Johnson, Vesterheim President/CEO, said.
Charis Hovden is part owner of Hovden Oil, a family business and is owner and manager of Firefly Reliability in Ridgeway, Iowa.
Hovden’s volunteer service over the years has included being a member of the Winneshiek Center Hospital Foundation Board and Beta Tau Community Service sorority, working with church organizations, and co-founding the Yoga for Charity organization.
Grounded in Norwegian heritage and traditions, Hovden’s familial ties have led to many trips to Norway, connecting with relatives and experiencing Norwegian culture.
She and her husband Terry reside near Ridgeway. Her love of nature and being outdoors keeps her active with hiking, snowshoeing, biking, golfing, kayaking, and boating.
